Why are authors expected to be marketing experts?

You’re navigating building a website, social media presence, marketing your next books — all on top of trying to write, edit and create said books! You’re an author, not a digital marketing guru. So why do publishers ask us to be both?

I’m here for you,

whatever your digital marketing needs may be.

Hi! I’m Sarah. For more than a decade, I’ve navigated the changing tides of digital marketing and social media. I know it can be challenging to keep up with the latest features and best practices for social media, SEO and SEM. Whether you’re looking for a comprehensive marketing strategy, assistance with Google AdWords or Facebook advertising, or whether you just need technical support designing and publishing your website or blog, I’d love to collaborate with you.

Supporting my writing community’s digital needs

I know your struggles because I share them. I’m an aspiring children’s and young adult writer. I’ve witnessed my friends and community muddle through assembling websites, marketing their books, growing their email lists and wondering if all that time on Twitter and Instagram is actually working.

I’m passionate about helping authors, nonprofits and small business owners build and extend their brands online so that they can focus on what they do best — their jobs.

I believe in sharing marketing knowledge generously

I knew zilch about marketing when I stepped into my first role as a Marketing Coordinator AmeriCorps VISTA at a small Boston nonprofit. Everything I’ve learned about content marketing, SEO, website accessibility and social media is thanks to mentors and industry professionals who also shared their expertise generously.

I look to pay it forward and share tips, tutorials and best practices through my blog. Help yourself. Grow your own knowledge but please — pass that knowledge on!
